About

Bongani is a finance-trained investment banking professional building his career at the intersection of business, culture, and technology.

By day, he works in M&A advisory, valuing companies, building and defending financial models, preparing transaction materials, and helping owners navigate the full deal cycle from mandate to close. He is comfortable in the details of forecasts, scenarios, and structuring, and is particularly focused on what the numbers imply for strategy, behavior, and long-term value creation.

Outside of his advisory work, he manages independent artists, with a focus on African and diaspora talent, supporting them on release planning, audience growth, and building sustainable careers from their art. He has also invested in and advised early-stage Canadian startups, including Holdr, where he contributed to the financial model used to support the company’s capital-raising efforts.

Away from spreadsheets, he is an avid golfer and long-time organizer of the SFU Men’s Basketball Alumni Golf Tournament, which has raised over $300,000 in program funding, reflecting his interest in community-building and long-term program support.

There may have been a couple photo shoots here and there too!
